Scene: Row 34, window seat. Pedro looks out of the window. The lights of Vegas are edging closer as the plane continues it’s descent. Pedro had never been to Las Vegas before, but he was able to save enough money smuggling koalas to be able to afford a nice week long trip and a suite at the MGM. He just hoped he had enough money left to get some quality whores. Not like the whores he got when he took a weekend trip to Reno. Two days of gambling was not worth four weeks of the clap. Pedro was excited. He had heard great things about the fun he could have in Vegas, and was hoping that his friends from Los Angeles would also be meeting him on time. He didn’t want to wait too long to get his vacation started. As the plane touched down, Pedro felt a small chill.
The next morning, Pedro awoke in his hotel room. He felt stiff and disoriented. He couldn’t remember how he gotten from the airport to the hotel, in fact, the last thing he remembered was stopping in the airport to try his luck at some slot machines. The rest was a blur. There were some flashing images, but nothing concrete. He figured he’d just forget about it and carry on with his vacation, that was, until his eyes regained focus and he looked around the room. Near his feet was a briefcase half full of hundred dollar bills, the rest seemed to be strewn around the king sized bed he was in and the rest of the bedroom. The television had finger paint on it, and it seemed like someone had taken his clothes and dumped them randomly around the room. He suddenly realized he was naked as well. He also realized that he was not alone in the room. He looked over the side of the bed, there was a woman! And she too, was naked. But she was sleeping. Pedro quietly got out of bed and slipped on the first pair of pants he could find. He walked out of the bedroom into the main room of the suite.
This room was a complete contrast to the bedroom. Everything was clean, the television had no paint on it, the couches were new, there was no trash or clothing strewn about the room. Pedro decided whatever had happened last night, had probably taken place in the bedroom. He looked behind him into the bedroom. The girl was starting to slowly move around the room, naked and picking up the hundred dollar bills and putting them back in the briefcase. She looked familiar to Pedro, but he couldn’t quite put his finger on it. Once again, Pedro realized he wasn’t quite alone and focused through the sunlight at the man standing by the window. He seemed to be contemplating something, then turned to face Pedro. It was George Clooney. He was wearing a grey suit, his tie loose around his neck, hands locked behind his back. He cocked his head and smiled, ever so slightly. Pedro wondered if he was in the right room.
“You’re in the right room.” George said. He then looked past Pedro to the naked girl coming out of the bedroom. She handed George the briefcase then shuffled back to the bedroom. She didn’t look at either men. George didn’t open the briefcase. “I hope that was worth it my friend. And let me just say, that was one hell of a bet you made last night, and you’re lucky you won. Otherwise, we’d be having a completely different conversation right now.” Pausing, George cocked and uncocked his head. “It was… interesting.” George nodded at Pedro, still stunned and walked out of the room. Pedro watched him go, then shut the door to the hallway. Still not believing what he had just seen, he decided to watch Sportscenter. As soon as he sat down, the previous night came rushing back to him.
In a daze, he watched the girl slink out of the room, half wearing, half carrying her clothes. She looked less familiar, now knowing how much was paid for her and the situation surrounding her services. Pedro decided not to think about it. There were other pressing matters on his mind. The phone rang. Pedro knew who it was before he answered. He picked up the phone and heard a slight quacking type noise on the other end. It was the penguins. They must have followed him back to his room. Pedro quickly grabbed a shirt and his room key. He knew what he had to do now. He had to face the penguins. And he had to do it on his terms.
